Commodity Aggregation
Most Tanzanian produce is grown in quantities too small to sell internationally on their own. Aggregation turns many small deliveries into a single lot a buyer can contract for.

A container load or a wholesale contract is rarely satisfied by one farm. Aggregation is the work of collecting many individual deliveries and combining them into a lot that is uniform enough to be sold against a single specification.
The difficulty is consistency. Two deliveries of the same crop from neighbouring farms can differ in moisture, size and cleanliness. Produce is therefore assessed at intake and grouped by characteristic, rather than being tipped together and averaged, so that the finished lot behaves predictably.
Each intake is recorded against its supplier and buying location. That record is what makes traceability possible later, and it is what allows a quality issue found at grading to be traced back to a particular source rather than written off across the whole lot.

Plan the lot
The target volume, specification and completion date are set, and the buying areas expected to supply it are identified.
Receive and weigh
Deliveries are received at a collection point, weighed and recorded against the supplier and the buying location.
Assess and segregate
Each intake is checked for moisture, purity and condition, then directed to the lot it matches rather than the nearest heap.
Bulk and identify
Matching intakes are combined into a commercial lot, which is given an identifier carried through cleaning, grading and despatch.
Hand over for preparation
The completed lot moves to cleaning, sorting and grading, with its intake record attached.
