Standard pack sizes

Packed for the market it is going to

Our standard retail and trade sizes. Not every size is available for every commodity — spices, coffee and cotton, for example, are packed to their own trade conventions.

1 kgRetail shelf packs and sampling
2 kgRetail and small household packs
5 kgRetail and catering packs
10 kgCatering, kiosk and small trade packs
25 kgWholesale, institutional and export bags
50 kgBulk trade and export bags
Exact packaging options depend on the product and on the customer's requirements. Pack size, bag construction, liner, labelling and pallet configuration are agreed per order and confirmed in writing before production. Where a destination market sets its own packaging or labelling rules, the order is packed to meet them.
Bulk and export

Beyond the standard bag sizes

High-volume and commodity-specific packaging for wholesale, processing and export buyers.

Bulk bags

Large-capacity bags for high-volume orders where the buyer handles the product with mechanical equipment rather than by hand.

Export bags for cash crops

Coffee, cocoa and raw cashew are packed in the bag sizes their trade works to, with a food-grade liner where the commodity needs one.

Loose bulk loading

Container loading without individual bags, where the commodity, the destination and the buyer's specification all allow it.

Pressed bales

Cotton lint is supplied in standard pressed bales with bale wrap rather than in bagged form.

Packaging materials

The material is chosen for the commodity, the transit route and the storage conditions at destination — not applied as a single house standard.

Woven polypropylene bags

The standard bag for grains and pulses. Durable, breathable and suited to stacking, road transport and container loading.

Laminated woven bags

A laminated outer layer for added moisture protection and a cleaner surface for printing.

Food-grade liners

An inner liner inside the bag where the commodity or the destination market requires one.

Printed retail packs

Shelf-ready packs for supermarkets and shops, printed to the artwork approved for the market.

Private label

Buyer-branded and custom packaging

Distributors and retailers can have consignments packed under their own brand. Artwork is approved before production and a minimum print run is agreed per order, because printed bags are produced to order rather than held in stock.

  • Buyer-branded bags and retail packs printed to your approved artwork
  • Your own bags supplied to us and filled on your instruction
  • Plain packaging with stencilled markings for onward branding at destination
  • Custom pack sizes and bag constructions where the volume supports a print run
  • Multilingual labelling where the destination market requires it

Labelling and markings

Bags are marked so that a consignment can be identified and traced from our warehouse to the buyer's store. Typical markings are:

  • Product name and grade
  • Net weight and, where required, gross weight
  • Country of origin
  • Batch or lot identification for traceability
  • Packing date or crop year, as agreed
  • Buyer's shipping marks and any markings the destination requires

Labelling requirements differ between markets. Confirm what your market requires when you enquire and the order will be packed and marked accordingly.
