Warehousing
Agricultural produce is bought in a season and sold across a year. Storage is what keeps the quality that sourcing, cleaning and grading put into a lot.
Overview
Storage is not simply a matter of keeping produce dry. Grain and pulses continue to respire, moisture migrates within a stack, and insect populations build quietly until they are expensive. Managed storage means the stack is built correctly, monitored and acted on.
Stock is stacked clear of walls and floor to allow air movement and inspection, segregated by lot so that identity and traceability are preserved, and rotated so that older stock moves first. Condition is checked periodically rather than only when the stock is called forward.
Where a buyer contracts volume for release over a period, the company can hold that stock and release it against a call-off schedule, reporting the balance held as it moves.

Who this service is for
How it works
The sequence below is followed on every consignment, and each step is recorded so the consignment can be reconstructed afterwards.
Receive and verify
Stock is received into store, checked against its lot record and its condition and moisture confirmed on intake.
Stack and register
The lot is stacked to protocol, segregated from other lots, and registered in the stock record with its location.
Monitor
Moisture, temperature where relevant, and signs of infestation are monitored on a routine cycle and findings recorded.
Treat and rotate
Pest control is applied where indicated, and stock is rotated so that the oldest conforming stock is released first.
Release
Stock is released against a call-off or shipment instruction, re-checked before loading, and the balance reported.
