Overview

The right packaging depends on where the consignment is going and who opens it. A wholesale buyer taking bulk sacks, a retailer selling shelf units and an industrial user tipping directly into a process all need something different from the same commodity.

The company packs to the buyer's stated format, weight and material, and marks each unit with the information the destination market requires. Packaging is chosen to protect the product through handling, storage and transit, and to keep moisture and pests out for the duration of the journey.

For buyers selling under their own brand, the company packs into the buyer's packaging or produces packaging to the buyer's approved artwork. Brand, product description, weight declaration, batch identification and any market-specific labelling are applied as instructed, and a pre-production sample is approved before a run begins.

Suitability

Who this service is for

  • Retailers and brand owners

Buyers selling under their own brand who need product packed and labelled to their artwork and their market's labelling rules.

  • Distributors and wholesalers

Buyers moving volume in standard sack weights who need robust, correctly marked packaging that survives repeated handling.

  • Export buyers

Importers whose destination market sets requirements for packaging material, marking and weight declaration.

Process

How it works

The sequence below is followed on every consignment, and each step is recorded so the consignment can be reconstructed afterwards.

  1. Specify the pack

Format, material, unit weight, liner, sealing method, marking and outer presentation are agreed and recorded.

  2. Approve artwork

For private label, the buyer's artwork and declarations are checked against the destination market's requirements and approved in writing.

  3. Sample and sign off

A pre-production sample pack is produced and submitted to the buyer for approval before the full run starts.

  4. Pack and verify

The lot is packed, each unit is weight-verified and sealed, and batch marking is applied and recorded against the lot.

  5. Prepare for despatch

Units are bundled or palletised, outer markings are applied, and the packed consignment is released to warehousing or loading.
