A short-life, high-value line that is quoted only against confirmed availability and confirmed cargo space. What a Gulf retail buyer should agree before the first flight.

Fresh strawberries behave like nothing else in an agricultural catalogue. A container of sesame that sails three days late is a commercial inconvenience; a strawberry consignment that misses its flight is a write-off. That single fact shapes everything below, and it is why this line is offered only against confirmed availability and confirmed air-freight space rather than as standing stock.

The pack comes first because it decides the flight booking. Fruit is packed into 250 g punnets inside export outer cartons. Other punnet and carton formats can be quoted, but they are confirmed at quotation rather than assumed, because the carton dimensions decide how many punnets ride on a pallet position and therefore what a kilogram actually costs to fly. A retailer with a fixed shelf format should send that format at enquiry stage, not after the first shipment.

Cold-chain handling is maintained from packing through to departure. We deliberately do not publish a holding temperature or a shelf-life figure on this site, and that is not an oversight: both depend on the specific consignment and are confirmed per shipment by our technical team. A supplier who quotes you a shelf life before knowing the routing, the ambient conditions and the handling at the other end is quoting a number rather than a commitment.

Because this line flies, the sea-freight Incoterms do not apply to it. Strawberries are quoted EXW or FCA — the two terms that fit an air consignment — and the choice decides who holds the goods from the airport of departure onward. That is the single most important commercial decision in a perishable programme, because the cold chain has an owner at every moment and the Incoterm is where that ownership is written down.

No volume is stated until space is confirmed. Air-freighted quantities are confirmed at quotation against current availability and available cargo space, and airfreight is priced separately from any sea-freight line in the same order. A buyer planning a weekly programme into Dubai, Jeddah or Doha should tell us the destination airport, the day of the week the fruit has to land, and the volume per flight, because a standing weekly slot is planned very differently from a one-off trial.

Agree the acceptance criteria in writing before the first flight, not after it. The export grade is whole, firm, clean fruit of even colour, free from mould, bruising and visible decay, supplied in single-variety lots. Who inspects on arrival, against what tolerance, and what happens to a carton that fails, are commercial questions with no default answer — settling them in the contract is what stops a quality conversation becoming a dispute at three in the morning at a cargo terminal.

If you are building a Gulf retail programme, tell us the destination airport, the arrival day you need, the punnet and carton format and the volume per flight. We will confirm availability and cargo space before quoting, and we will tell you plainly if a week cannot be covered rather than confirming it and missing it.
